Video Assisted Anal Fistula Treatment: Is a new surgical kit for treating anal fistulae. The system comprises of a video telescope to allow surgeons to inside
the fistula tract and diathermy(burning) of inside of tract. A brush is used for cleaning the tract and clearing of any granulation tissue. The advantages with this operation are that
it causes little pain and does not
affect the muscle around the anus and therefore will not cause any incontinence. Disadvantages are that it is expensive and there is a significant failure rate (risk of fistula returning)
